Make Your Course Available or Unavailable to Students

Introduction
When the Angel administrator sets up your course he or she sets the course to be available, that is, any student enrolled in the course will be able to view the course and log on.

As an instructor in Angel you can disable your course so that it does not appear to students.  A "disabled" course is only visible to the instructor. However, it does not appear on the instructors menu of courses unless you change a Course setting. (See procedure below.)

How to Disable Your Course

  • Open the course; go to the Manage tab and click General Course Settings

  • Select the Access tab.

  • Note that Member Access is set to "All Members". Using the drop-down list, change to "Editors Only" and then click "Save"

Warning: When you disable your course it will only be available to you. However, it will no longer appear on your Home screen. To make it appear on your home page do this:

Log on to ANGEL. On your Home page hover over the end of the Courses nugget toolbar so that the Edit icon (the pencil) is visible. Click on the Edit icon.

You will see all your courses listed. The checkmark next to each course indicates that you will be able to see the courses listed on the Home page.
At the bottom of the page, change Show Disabled courses to Yes and then click Save.
